So the unofficial start to the 2015 hunting began with dove season opening up today. I probably won’t get to get out until this weekend due to work and all. But looking forward to it, as I do every year. Dove opener just means deer season is only a couple of weeks off.
And I shaved for the last time on Sunday. Won’t shave again until next year once all the seasons stop.
Good luck if you’re getting out. Keep your powder dry.
The Second Amendment exists not to put a target on the backs of deer and rabbits, but to give notice to tyrants.
Sorry, Josh Earnest, But The Second Amendment Isn’t About Hunting
“The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.”
Nice! Let’s go hunt!
Kansas Wildlife and Parks have released their upland game outlook for 2014. Number are up across the state on average. Looks good for this year! Can’t wait for the opener in November. Banner year baby!
Well, deer hunting kicks off next week here in Kansas. I’m looking forward to it, more so then years past. Mostly because the rifle is built, sited in and ready to go!
And because I really need some time in the field. It’s how I recharge. There something about being out in the country, away from the city and the noise that energizes me. I can’t wait.
Anyone else going out next week?
Just read this article here at Deer & Deer Hunting magazine where they’re discussing the pros and cons of blaze orange during deer hunting season. There’s a few interesting tidbits in there, especially about UV and blaze orange camo. Some of the hunters in our group have tried adding black lines on their blaze orange vests to break up their lines. I’m not sure of the success that has had.
What’s your thoughts? Have the deer spotted you in your blaze clothes or not?
